The University of Missouri
In1839, the University of Missouri (MU) was founded in Columbia, Missouri. Now, it has grown into a famous institution in the United States. As one of the top 100 universities in the US，MU established one of the world’s first journalism schools. The school currently ranks the first in the US in news, communication and other academic fields.
In June 2009, U.S.News & World Report magazine ranked the School of Journalism at the University of Missouri as first among all journalism and communication schools in the United States. The “University of Missouri Award” is aworld-renowned honor for journalism. For its undergraduate and master’s programs in journalism and public communication, the university has developed its famous “Missourian Hands-on Style”, which successfully combines classroom education with journalism practice. Based on this model, the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism has cultivated famous leaders, journalists, editors, anchors and producers in the American news industry for more than 100 years.
